Autism a growing concern

I love freelance feature writing because I learn so much.  For instance, I had no idea that autism was a growing problem and, in the opinion of some, nearly epidemic.  Read on.

Quinn Family Embraces Autism

Patrick Quinn was such an active three-year-old and moved so fast that his parents, Joanne and John Quinn, dressed him in overalls when they would be going out in public.

They could easily grab the back straps if he started to take off.  Yet, there were plenty of times when the toddler would slip away.  

“We were always having ‘Patrick alerts’,” said Joanne, the mother of three sons, with Patrick being the youngest.  “All of us would start looking for him. I used to think, ‘Well, isn’t he spunky.’”
